Description:  There is much to read about and surf the web for, regarding alternative vaccination schedules and vaccination choices.  The mandates vary from state to state, as well.  There are times to vaccinate and times when you may want to wait.  There is your family's faith and your branch of religious beliefs and the ways you lead your lives to consider.  The ultimate decision is between you and your child's pediatric doctor.  This is a delicate life decision that requires your thought and dedication no matter how you choose.
Attending this discussion, one of many offered in a year long series with various doctors and various opinions, can continue your journey of parent-based research and inquiries regarding how and when to vaccinate your child or even asking if you want or feel the need to vaccinate your child.

If you choose an alternative path, what can you do to work with your child's day care or school district or other education related institutions or camps, especially if you are not a home schooler?  How do you write an exemption letter and how do you find out your school's requirements along with the state's?

Each of the states in the US have different exemption laws, and each country on Earth has different suggested and/or mandatory vaccination schedules.  How do we know who is "right"?  How do we know the healthiest choices for our family when so many schools of thought exist?  Doing your own research and soul searching and choosing a pediatrician that you trust are the first steps to educating yourself and your family about vaccinations.

Join our 2012 discussion journey as we take the time to offer sessions guided by health and wellness supporters in WNY.  You may jump in at any time to ask questions or share your stories.   Guest parents will also be on hand to share their experiences with their children.  The series repeats itself in the new year.
